A Message from Irish Network DC Chair

To our members, supporters, and friends of INDC,

I am honored to serve as Chair of INDC in 2025 and would like to extend my heartfelt thanks for the trust and confidence you have placed in me. It is a privilege to help lead this vibrant community as we continue to celebrate Irish culture, heritage, and connection here in Washington, DC.

At our Annual General Meeting in January, graciously hosted once again at the Ambassador’s Residence, I expressed my deep appreciation to the Embassy of Ireland, and the Department of Foreign Affairs, for their generous and ongoing support. Their partnership is at the heart of our efforts to connect people of all backgrounds who share an interest in Irish culture, dialogue, and friendship.

I would also like to acknowledge the outstanding leadership of our outgoing Chair, Gary Barrett. Gary’s energy and dedication helped INDC grow in both membership and programming, and his work laid a strong foundation for the year ahead. On behalf of the Board and the broader network, I thank him sincerely. We are delighted that Gary is serving as Treasurer of INDC in 2025.

We are excited to continue expanding the scope and reach of our programming in 2025. From lively happy hours and thought-provoking speaker events to cultural outings, sports gatherings, and theater nights, our calendar will continue to reflect the diversity and dynamism of the Irish-American experience. Many events will be open to the public, while others will offer exclusive benefits for members. Membership is a key source of our support, and we warmly welcome all who wish to join us.

We are also committed to broadening engagement across DC’s diverse communities, including through richer digital content and storytelling across our media platforms. By deepening these connections, we aim to ensure that IN-DC is a welcoming, inclusive, and inspiring place for all who are drawn to Ireland and its diaspora.

Thank you once again for the opportunity to serve as Chair. I look forward to meeting many of you at upcoming events, and to an engaging, meaningful, and fun year ahead.
