The clubs are always delighted to take on new recruits, regardless of experience or current fitness level! Even if you don't want to play in any of the games they will welcome any new social members.
On a less "competitive" side of things, the DC Irish Sports League (http://www.dcisl.org/) was founded in 2007 to introduce the games of Gaelic football and hurling to new players in a semi-competitive, co-ed and social environment. This league is played in the Spring and Fall to compliment the GAA Clubs' Season. All levels and experience are welcome. DCISL is not specific to any of the above named clubs. Instead it is run under the Mid-Atlantic GAA. It's participants need not be members of any of the clubs in order to play in the leagues. These leagues are perfect for any person who has not touched a football or held a hurl for years or decades, or even for complete beginners.
